WHO - I am Brion Draper, an entrepreneur, investor and a jack of all trades.
WHAT
The Great Trade Up Adventure is both a mission and a challenge to complete 30 trades within 365 days or less, with the ultimate goal in mind. The traditional penny-doubling challenge is widely considered impossible to achieve successfully, but after three years of strategizing, I believe it can be done within 365 days or less using a special formula.
Most trade-up challenges are undertaken for personal gain, and while they are common, they tend to follow the same pattern with different individuals. However, this mission introduces a completely new concept: the money generated at the end will be used to help people in need through a 'pay-it-forward' approach.
I am in the process of establishing a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which will be fully transparent and visible once approved. Starting with a single penny, my goal is to reach $5,368,709.12 by the end of the trades. These funds will be given back to families, elderly individuals, disabled persons, churches, and other deserving recipients. Each recipient will be thoroughly researched and vetted before funds are distributed.
WHY The penny-doubling challenge has always fascinated me, and successfully completing it would be incredible! But then I asked myself, what should I do with the money? The answer was clear—give it back! Recently, I decided that after completing this challenge and mission, I want to embark on a second one. This new challenge will be entirely different, with the goal of building numerous tiny homes on dedicated land to create affordable and low-income housing—something that is currently scarce and desperately needed.
WHERE The center of operations is located in Charlottesville, VA. However, I conduct trades across the state and am open to considering trades in other states as well.
WHEN I began the challenge on November 6, 2024, with a deadline to complete all trades by November 6, 2025, or sooner. Once the challenge is finished, I will pay any applicable taxes and then start creating a series of videos documenting the process of giving it all back.

Any donations will be used strictly for the mission, and each contribution will be publicly announced. This unique challenge is not a fundraising campaign—it's a challenge with a purpose. Some items will be traded directly for other items, while others may need to be sold if they cannot be traded, with the proceeds used to purchase the next trade item.
